When I was 15 I was diagnosed with IBS and I used to get severe pain in my rectum.  The day before my period I would pretty much have the best bowel movement ever clearing everything out.  This was my way of knowing I was getting my period. Once on my period the cramps were intense and I couldnt go to the bathroom and when I could go finally 5 days later it would hurt.

Everytime I would have a pap it would hurt so bad.  When they did the internal omg it hurt.

Enough was enough I researched and research but I had other symptoms and issues so it was being masked.

Finally I was diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis.  I had severe endo with a rectovaginal nodule.

Since my surgery my pain is gone pretty much.  I am on the continuous birth control pill now and dont get a period so I am not sure if the pain would still be there if I came off it.

I hope some of that helps

I dont have cramps anymore because I dont get a period anymore because I am on the  continuous birth control pill.  I did use to alot.. They were so painful.

I am almost positive its possible that you have endometriosis and when it involves the rectum it is not good.

I would find a good doctor who specializes in this disease.

Have you had a transvaginal ultrasound?  Have you had  them check inside your vagina and rectum for nodules?  They have to really go deep to feel them..

Like I said i had so many of those done and they were missed everytime until I found this doctor and right away that was the first thing he did and found it.

Do you have bad cramps?  With me, using the bathroom really aggravates my menstrual cramps, probably because more pressure is being put on the swollen sensitive areas.  Maybe it's that?
