36, tubes tied, getting period, gaining weight

My tubes have been tied for 7 years, i already have five kids, i am still getting my period although it is every 3 weeks instead of 4 as it was... I also have a cyst upon my ovary that acts up for a week every month before my period begins, I have never gained weight before so rapidly, unless i was pregnant, i have gained 12 pounds in the past 2 months, is it my age? My body changing? Or is it possible i could be pregnant? I am gaining the weight in my ab. area only, as if i am pergnat? It looks like i am 5 months pregnant.. is this possible? Or could it be something else wrong?

I'm not trying to be mean, but maybe you are gaining weight in other places and u just can't see it. I felt like my stomach was getting bigger too but I think it was all in my head. I had my tubes tied 5 years ago. Ur periods start acting up the older we get(not that ur old, still very young) so as long as you still have periods I wouldn't be concerned. Were ur tubes cut and burn? Do you want to be PG? I have 3 kids and would love to have one more but no chance. I made a decision to tie the tubes at an early age b/c I thought I didn't want anymore. ANyway, if u are concerned, call a doc or take a test. But if ur not late, then I think u have nothig to worry about. Hope I've helped!

Gaining 12 pounds in 2 months is pretty extreme.  I would at least take a home pregnancy test and see a doc.

I'm having nearly the exact same symptoms.  I'm 27, had tubes tied after my third child 3 years ago.  Since April/May I have had two periods each month...up until August.  I'm almost 3-4 weeks without a period.  And in the past week I've gained about 5 lbs.... granted, much of it could very well be water-weight.  I told my husband this morning that I wanted to take a hpt...but will wait to see what nature brings me...I should have my cycle in the next week or two.  I also have an appt with an endocrinologist on the 14th regarding my problems with my menstrual cycles, among other symptoms that I have been experiencing.  I'm also experiencing the same, Blackwolf...I LOOK pg.  I'm fairly thin/normal weight...and I'm not seeing any weight gain in any other area than my abdomen.

Please let us know what you find out.

have you found out anything yet? To answer your question, I had mine cut and burned. He told me I would likely never get pregnant. I decided to get a tubal b/c I had all three of my children so close together. Right now they're 8, 7, and 5. I can't recall having any problems after having the surgery other than the weight gain. I swear I have gained at least 30 pounds since. And it too looks like it's only in my belly. My clothes are getting tight and I'm tired all the time..........I am now 1 week late(I think) but took a test...negative. I still haven't started but I think maybe worrying is prolonging my period. It was weird though b/c I had a period aug. 4-8 and started bledding(passing clots) on aug. 17-22. So did I have 2 periods in one month? Is that possible? .......Blackwolf..When you find out something please let us know. God bless.
