54 Days late and negative prenancy test results.

Im 19 and I'm 54 days late and I've been to the doctors twice and both negative plus i've spent way to much money on the home pregnancy tests, My last period was september 30 2010 and this is the latest that it has ever been. Ive been with the same person for over two years and we've decided that we want a baby but I hate not knowing if im pregnany especially around Christmas Time! But the Doctor said that if im late in the new year then she will do blood work, why is it that some people can tell if they are pregnant right away and then there's us who have to wait for ever to find out whats wrong? Ive heard of people not knowing their pregnant till like 4-5 months in. Is there a better way to find the results easier? Could there be any other reason for a missed period other then pregnancy? And for it to be that late?

Yeah I dont think Im pregnant but the Boyfriend does and same with my parents. Its commn in my family that they cant detect the pregancy hormone, it took my mom till she was 4 month to be told that she was. I have no symptoms at all, but its never been this late and Ive been way more stressed then I am right now it just makes no sence but ill be getting blood work done by the new year if still nothing, I havent even been spotting at all, but we will see, Im just worried that if im not pregnant then what is it?

there are other reasons for a late period. weight gain or loss, change in diet, exercise, stress etc. at 54 days late you should definitely be getting a positive pregnancy test. with all the tests you've taken it is not very likely that you are pregnant. at this point, i would see your doctor to figure out why you are not getting a period, but pregnancy probably is not the reason. good luck.
