I ended up having the Mirena (I did feel I was forced into this as the gyne doc I saw on admission basically said if I wasn't happy with the ablation I was stuck with it whereas the coil can be removed and she seemed very reluctant to do the ablation at this stage).
Long history of very heavy bleeding and severe pain, had numerous cysts and abnormal smears. Had a CT scan in December (as one of the cysts looked suspicious) but the scan was clear.
Im hoping this mirena settles and I get some relief but dont feel very confident at the moment.
Hi,
How are you? What other symptoms are present? The procedures recommended by your gynecologist may be both helpful with your symptoms but factors such as the underlying cause, your medical history, overall health, results of the biopsy (and other diagnostic tests) and symptoms present are important considerations also. Talk to your doctor about this prior to making a decision. A second opinion from another specialist who can directly examine you may also help ease any worry. Take care and do keep us posted.
