Weird Period

I'm 21 years old and I've been on the pill for 6 months now and since I've started it I've had no changes in my menstrual cycle.
I noticed light bleeding and mild cramping on the 13th(my period was due to start the 19th)  and it's stayed fairly light, only today have I had to use anything, but it hasn't been enough to fill a pad.
I've never had spotting in between periods before and there hasn't been any clots in this one. There has been little bits of tissue and I did pass a small clump of tissue on the 14th or 15th.
Last weird thing, today I noticed it's after I pee or wipe there's blood. It's been bright red once earlier today, but not once has it really gotten heavier.

It sounds like breakthrough bleeding which is the most common side effect of being on the pill. Sooner or later it happens to everyone on the pill. It's not dangerous or anything it's just very annoying. If it keeps happening for more than a few months you may need to see your gyne to get put on a higher dose pill because it's the lower dose pills that cause the most problems with breakthrough bleeding. If you read the package insert from the pills you'll see it talks all about breakthrough bleeding.
