Any solutions?

I'm 19 years old and since I can remember I've had a very very strong body odor. I have tried to douche and use other other vaginal wash and baking soda to scrub my under arms/vagina. Nothing works I have had BV before and even the pills didn't work. I have yet to try Vagisil Wash for Odor though I hope when I do it works. This is very much humiliating because I can't really enjoy being A Woman. Is there anything at all I can do to prevent such a Fishy Musky Odor?

Hello,
Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal odor and discharge. It is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina.

Diagnosis can be confirmed after pelvic examination and microscopic examination of the vaginal discharge.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Douching could be adding to your problem, the over the shelf douche liquids can be too harsh. Your vagina has good bacteria just like the rest of your body.
Your vagina also has a specific Ph level which can be easily thrown off balance allowing an environment for bad bacteria to develop which can lead to infection and strong odor.

If you suffer from strong odor it might be your body telling you your unbalanced.
If your going to douche use home remedies, a table spoon of hydrogen peroxide( the regular 3% stuff you can find at a pharmacy) in a cup of clean water can be a very good wash because hydrogen peroxide occurs naturally in the vagina and the mixture can help balance your ph level out.

the annoying thing about the Ph level of your vagina is that it can really be affected by anything, your diet, stress to having a new sexual partner.

also after your period and after sex is a good time to use a ph balancer like RePhresh or something because your blood, lubes and semen can be very alkaline thus kinda throwing everything down there alittle off.

Some women swear by all natural yogurt, eaten and applied to the vagina, although the latter sounds pretty messy and i havent personaly tried it. I've only heard of it being applied topically for yeast infections though.

If you've been diagnosed with BV then i'd suggest talking to your doctor again seeing if youve got it once more. The problem with the antibiotics for BV is that it only kills the infection, it doesn't help your vagina become healthy again, it can actually kill off good bacteria along with the infection.

as for regular washing defiantly use a glycerin soap on your genitals anything too strong can cause problems.

hope this helps :)
