Antibiotics and Birth Control Pills

I started Yasmin birth control pills 9 days ago and last night i had sex with my boyfriend and he ejaculated inside without a condom. This morning I started taking antibiotics, what are the chances of pregnancy? Does the fact that i started antibiotics after I had sex increase the chance of pregnancy?

I do not believe taking the antibiotics the day after unprotected sex will increase the chances of getting pregnant, however the fact that you were only on the pill for 9 days may. Your body needs time to adjust to the hormones. I would still suggest taking Plan B if you are concerned about being pregnant.

The morning after pill is very effective. Only 2% of women who take the pill still get pregnant after taking it. Just be forwarned that the hormones in the morning after pill and your normal birth control pill may mess up your cycle.

Ok but i am wondering if the fact that i took the antiobiotics the morning after i had unprotexted sex (being on the pill the whole time) will have any extra risk on getting pregnant?

No the antibiotics does not increase your chances but you having unprotected sex does. Antibiotics causes birth control pills not to work effectively and will in fact increases your chances of getting pregnet.

I do not know what the chances of you being pregnant are, however, taking antibiotics lower the effectiveness of birth control. If you are concerned about getting pregnant, I suggest you go and get Plan B. If you are 18 or older, you do not need a perscription or parents' concent, just a valid ID. I suggest you get it soon as it is most effective the firs three days after unprotected sex.
