I went to my ob/gyn and she diagonsed me with BV and gave me metronizale tablets to take for a week I went back after a week but the infection is still there now she gave me the gel I hope this works. I have thick yellow discharge but she says the pills should have cleared it up but it didnt im confused?

No it can not but if a female has BV and doesnt get treated it could lead to PID.

is BV contagious? Can I pass it onto a male partner?

Did she just tell you that you had it or did she swab you?  It is very important that you are tested and not just told that you have it. Its possible you need a different med and or its a yeast infection and the medication is making it worse.

I had chronic BV infections and yeast and I remember this one year it was over and over again as if it didnt go away.

When you are on antibiotics you can end up getting a yeast infection! You should have her check for that as well.
Oh and I had to be on antibiotics three times to finally (hopefully) get rid of BV. Yesterday was my last day of antibiotics! I hope mine will stay gone! Good luck!!
