Brown Discharge - EVERY MONTH! PCOS

Hi!

I've just joined today soo hello everyone!

Just looking for some info.

I have PCOS, Diagnosed 2004 aged 18. I am not on any meds and I am NOT TCC.

My periods have always been a bit all over the place but recently since April/May I am having dark brown vaginal discharge then bleeding for a few days every month. Nothing extremely heavy or painful but medium flow I would say and some cramping. Then on August 4th I took an extremely heavy period and then again on September 17th, I worked it out on a period calculator that I should have ovulated last Tuesday 18th October and sure as hell that day the brown discharge started to appear. Yesterday (23 October) the discharge was extremely watery and today there is slight blood. Sorry (TMI)!!!

Anyone any ideas if this is my cycle starting to settle down into a pattern.

Many Thanks

Jane :) x

I don't know much about PCOS either, but I do know that I have cramps between periods and the symptom is known as mittelschmirtz or "middle pain" and that sometimes spotting occurs with it.  I have also gotten cysts on my ovaries now and again.

I agree that getting it checked into might be a good idea, but I think you are probably doing okay and just settling into a rhythm.

I can't really say anything more than to ask the gynacologist.  PCOS isn't something I know a whole lot about, even though I suspect I even have some form of it.  I only know that for a normal cycle there shouldn't be any brown spotting between periods.  For a normal cycle, the brown discharge is usually at the beginning and/or end of the menstruation period.  While I do hope you are settling down to a regular pattern, I do think it would be a good idea to go in for a check up.
