Brown discharge

Hi, I have been having brown discharge for about 2-3 days now and I'm kind of worried as to what it means.. I am 18 and I have had quite a few sexual partners, some long term, and some just flings. I am on birth control. I just recently had sex when i was about a day away from starting my last period.. i had a little spotting at the time and the next day i started it.. The last time i had sex my birth control patch (evra) got ripped off with my clothes un-noticed.. I am wondering if this means i am pregnant or what it means? i am kind of scared.

thanks for your advice tinkerbell and sherri..
im just worried because this hasnt happened to me before and ive missed my patch before too so im wondering if you're right and im just freaking out over nothing (which i hope is the case) .. i am supposed to start my period in about a week from tomorrow, i may just wait till then and see how it goes because my doctor is a very busy lady and takes a long time to get to her anyways, or i may go into a walk-in clinic

If I were you, if you can, I'd go see the dr to put your mind at ease. Like Tinkerbell said, it's very unlikely that you're pregnant. I don't know much about the patch, but I imagine if it was off for a while, that the resulting hormonal fluctuations could cause you to have spotting/bleeding like you're having (even this long). Also if you see the dr, you can let him/her know that some recent intercourse you had was painful. They should check you out to see why that is the case. In my experience that shouldn't result in bleeding, but I'm not saying it's impossible. Good luck! Keep us posted!

Most likely not. The spotting maybe from the patch falling off though. Like with pills IF you skip one you can get spotting
