Brown spotting can happen at any point in your cycle and it really doesn't mean you are pregnant every time- it could mean ovulation, pregnancy, and usually is "old blood" and a result in a reduction of estrogen. If you suspect a pregnancy- wait until your next period is due and take a test to verify.
