Bumps on the Vagina

Ok, so i am a 17 year old and still a virgin. Here for a while i've noticed some little bumps around my vagina near the hymen area. They are not noticable unless you feel down there. They are are just in a row and just feel bumpy. They are the color of my skin so i don't know. My mom would flip if i asked to go to a doctor about this but i'm scared i have an STD or something and i haven't even done anything! I've searched google and found nothing. If anybody could help me it would greatly be appreciated. Like i said, i'm very scared of what it is! Thank you guy's so much!

I don't know how you're going to get around asking for an ob-gyn appointment to have it checked out.  Maybe it's just normal, but really only a doc can tell you.  Can you ask your mom if you could make an appointment for a general checkup, and now that you're older you think it might be good to talk about getting the HPV vaccine and all, so you'd like to see an ob-gyn?  She might come out and ask you if you are a virgin, I guess, but since you are, what is the big deal?  All I can think of for the bumps is either a) normal, b) HPV (but I don't know if that is sexually transmitted), c) venereal warts (again, I don't know if that has to be sexually transmitted).  Sorry to sound so darn dumb!  Both HPV and warts are more recent on the health scene than my high-school years.  Anyway, I think if you talk about wanting to be taken care of by an ob-gyn from now on because of your age, your mom might buy it without being freaked out that this means you are sexually active.
