Complex Ovarian Cyst

I was diagnosed yesterday with a complex ovarian cyst on my right ovary based on internal ultrasound.  It's a little over 4 cm in size.  Practioner suggested repeating the ultrasound in 6 weeks.  Is it okay to wait this long?  What could be causing a complex cyst rather than a simple one?

a regular cyst and a complex cyst are different do not consider them the same or disregard them as being just a normal cyst. Complex cyst can be dangerous your Dr is the one qualified tell you which kind of complex cyst you have and what will need to be done about it.  There are 3 kinds for this type of cyst, one of those can be malignant so definately ask your Dr.

I suggest you do some research and ask your Dr. more questions regarding a complex cyst.  I found out I have a complex cyst on my left ovary as well as fibroids in my uterus and yes very painful during ovulation, feels like I am back in labour when I hit my periods and I can't remember the last time I felt no pain during sex... Not fun

I am currently waiting for a Dr's appointment to see what will need to be done but I sure hope its soon considering we have a shortage of Dr's here.

Same as Ovarian Cyst? For years I have had incrediable pain in this area - maybe now I know why? I have also been told to wait 6 wks. After being in pain for ever so long - now 6 wks before the next test seems forever....The report says: contains internal septa and blood flow is present within 1 of these septa. poss. cystadenomatous. What do you people think??? Thanks!!

Ovarian cyst are very normal, most women have them and don't even know it. Howerver they can get larger and cause pain. Most of the time the rupture on their own and there is no need for sergury. Sometimes they don't. I have a dermoid cyst and it is 9cmx9cmx4cm I will have to have it surgically removed. Most cyst are not anything to worry about. However if they are reaccuring and painful I would suggest you see your Dr.

I have ovarian cysts, tons of lil ones... They can be VERY painful and even rupture.... I ve had one rupture and its not fun, I am guessing that is why they want you to come back in to see if its grown in size so either they can determine if it needs to be removed, or if its just going to stay the same size. Periods also make them flare up. Good Luck :)

I also had an ovarian cyst..Mine was 4 cm.I was told to wait...........I do not remember the dr. saying  it was a complex..... I was given a transvaginal and they found it on the screen. The good thing was that it was discovered in June and by Aug, did another trans, and it was gone..I hope the same happens with yours......I think this is the best site ever.So informative and puts you at ease.Good luck..................
