Chronic Yeast, recurring BV, HELP ME PLEASE!!

Hello.  I too have recurring BV and chronic yeast and I have had this problem for over two years now.  No one seems to know the answer to how to get rid of this annoying disease and I am beyond frustrated and depressed.  I am constantly itching, burning, bloated, gassy (sorry for such vivid details) and now my fiance is experiencing gassy, bloating problems too.  I've been to the doctors more times than I can count and they have prescribed it all : Flagyl, Metro, Clandesse, Monistat, Diflucan, tea tree suppositories, Gynazole.  You name it, I've tried it.  They all work for a split second, then the symptoms come right back.  I was thinking that my fiance was passing it back to me, but the doctor's say that's impossible.  I find it strange because it only comes back after intercourse.  I'm scared that these recurring infections will affect my reproductive abilities.  I want to have children someday but can chronic yeast and BV along with frequent meds decrease the chances of fertility?  CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP ME GET RID OF THIS?   I AM SUFFERING.

Thanks :(

I have also been suffering from recurring bv and yeast inf. for about 4 yrs now and nothing seems to work. It'll work for a while but then it's back again. I've been with the same partner. And it is very embarassing especially after sex. I am very frustrated, because my previous gyn doctors could not give me any reason or cure. I recently went to a different gyn who wrote me a prescription for boric acid suppositories. I was very reluctant to use them. But I'm desperate for a cure. So this is my third night using them, and they are messy once the capsule melts, but I'm hoping that this works. My only worry is becoming pregnant, and having the problem. you can't use the boric acid suppositories while pregnant. And I do want children.

I just thought of some simple things that you can do to. Don't use perfumed toilet paper or soap. Also cloths washing powder or liquid, not to highly perfumed either, try look for one that is either designed for sensitive skin or just low in smell.  saniskies, yes I have heard of this many times, if the swab is taken from the inside of the vagina it often comes back with nothing. Next time try to get one from the opening of the vagina and inside and see what you dr comes up with. Garlic is a natural anti-biotic that's why it helps. A low yeast, low sugar diet also helps.

Hi all! I too have had these problems for a year and a half. In the summer of 07 I had a yeast infection for four months that would not go away, and never even cultured. Tried everything, diflucan, boric acid, monistat, terazol. What finally killed it was gynazole. Was clear for 11 months. Now have another, I am not sure what triggered it. Took a gynazole, felt better for 10 days, then it came back. And the funny thing is my yeast they cannot see under a microscope and it does not culture. Anyone ever heard of this?
Also I have found that garlic cloves help with the burning!

Iv had BV for 2 years!! Im sick of it.. Iv looked up BV on the net and with nearly every woman's comments it has returned! I visited my local GUM clinic where they gave me antibiotics called Metronidazole! I dont think they worked due to the fact they made me throw up due to the disgustin taste they left in my mouth. I visited my GP this week and she prescribed me the same thing which is once again making me throw up! If its always going to return then why prescribe this antibiotic? I feel like Im gonna be stuck with this for life and Im very worried due to only bein 20 years old and reading that it can make me infertile. Im lucky that I have an understanding boyfriend that isnt grossed out by it. I also read that using tampons, having sex, wearing thongs etc is a key factor in why it returns. what am I supposed to do.. Become a Nun? If anyone can help me then id REALLY appreciate it as its really getting me down.

I'm in the same boat as well. I too have had every tablet therapy ever invented and as you said it improves for a while, but comes back again. The truth is that they only way to get rid of it is to cut sugar out of your diet and reduce the amount of yeast in your diet. Probiotics like acidophlis help. I'm currently looking into digestive emzymes to see if they would help. I've had this for many years and have developed other health problems along the way, which I think link back to this problem. The good news about children is that I have two. My first didn't have problems with thrush, but my daughter had oral thrush bad when she was born. I was told by a pharmasist that if I took two Probiotic tablets (which is a double dose) it would help, but I only did this in the last month before she was born. So maybe if you can get this under control by diet and probiotics it might be better.  Apart from this she turned out to be a happy healthy little girl and we haven't had any problems with it again. I am here if you need to talk, as I am totally with you on this one.

Hey sister.  If it helps I'm in the same boat.  I'm trying to find a doctor who can REALLY help.  It's not easy.  I do not know what triggers my yeast/BV.  It is not just sex related for me.  Well, maybe we can support each other if we find things that help.
