Complete hysterectomy

I have recently found out that I am getting a complete hysterectomy (removal of my cervix, uterus and ovaries). It is being done with robot assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy. I am only 35 yr old and a little bit concerned with menopause and the hormone replacement therapy. I am just wondering what other women have experienced with having a complete hysterectomy and the symptoms of menopause. I read that the menopause systems are worse for women with having surgical menopause then entering it as a normal menopause.
Thanks.

No, he said my surgery will cause me to go into full on menopause. I have a family history of ovarian cancer plus I have recently started with bad pains in my pelvic area. They have done some tests but can't seem to see why I am having the pains that I am. Thanks for the info. I am hoping that I don't get menopause too bad.

My mother-in-law had this done and her menopausal symptoms or her aftercare was not bad at all, the only thing that changed for her was that she gets night sweats if she does not take her Estroven.  Good luck with your surgery.  Does your blood work indicate you are going through menopause?  Or do you have something abnormal that is causing you to have the surgical removal?
