Cut on my area

Just yesterday I noticed that at the top part of my vagina, where the lips begin, I have a small cut that runs vertically. It isn't too long of a cut. Now I have no idea how I got it, I haven't had sex, scratched myself or anything, so I figure that it was when I was shaving. I just didn't feel it burn until now when I have to pee. The first question is what can I put on it?

My second problem is that ever since I noticed that cut, I've been having discharge...more than the normal you could say. I've had yeast infections before but this time it doesn't itch down there. I just didn't know if it could be possible that the cut might've caused this discharge I'm getting?!? I have not had sex by the way. Just genital contact.

Oral sex can give you an yeast infection (keep in mind a yeast infection is a build up of yeast/bacteria). Just be sure that your partner rinses their mouth out thouroughly with water prior to perfoming on you. This will eliminate sugars and other foods that could be hiding out in their mouth also, avoid using aditives such as whip cream, honey, chocolate...etc. they're all sugars. avoid menthol as well (no freshly brushed teeth).

Try washing with Summers Eve Feminine wash, no other soaps in this area.
What has worked for me is Monistat 3. The 7 day is to long for me, and the 1 day is to short. I prefer the 3 day treatment. You can purchase it at Walgreens, CVS, or Walmart.

Good Luck.

One more thing, the reason I pointed out the fact that I've only had genital contact is because I don't know if you can get yeast infections just by that or you had to have sex to get it?

Thank you so much for your response. The cut is actually now healing, doesn't really burn anymore. Although now my yeast infection is getting worse and I've never had to buy medicine for it. Is there a certain brand that anyone can recommend? & If so, can I find it at a Walgreens?

First, no need to worry. This is actually a bit more common than you may think. Cuts in that area may happen because the area could be too dry or to moist (weir). Also the cut doesn't cause the yeast infection. I think the yeast infection causes the cut. I use to have this problem very badly for about a year. It seemed as though once a month I would notice a cut and then I would get a yeast infection. I switched my underwear type, the washing detergent, bought looser fitting jeans, changed my diet, etc. I then read up on it, and found that this problem happens because of excessive dryness or excessive moisture. You have to create a balance. So what I've done is after using the restroom I make sure that I wipe softly with toilet paper and then once more with a baby wipe to keep the area clean and moisturized just enough. I also stoped using the cheaper yeast infection treatment. I finally got the expensive stuff and it cleared up the whole problem. I haven't had a yeast infection in a year. Also be sure your not having dry sex (intercourse or oral) to much abrassion in that area (this area has extremely thin skin) can cause 'vaginal tares'.

Secondly, Genital contact is just as risky as sex.
