1 Centimeter

My doctor determined that I am 1 cm and 50 % efaced this morning (i'm 37 1/2 weeks). I have felt a few little uncomfortable pains here and there, but nothing at all regular. Is it common not to feel much at all when progressing to 1 cm? Also, can I be at 1 cm for awhile without much progression? I actually have a c-section scheduled for next Tuesday (he's breech) and I was wondering what the possibility is of going into labor before then.

I walked around dialated to 3 for weeks....and didn't feel anything.  Never even saw the mucus plug...eventually my water sac began to leak, and I had to be induced.  My second, I was only dialated to 1 for the last week, but he was 2 weeks early too.

I was dilated at 1 cm for 2 days.. Trust me, it's not even worth going to the hospital when you feel pains, because all you're going to do is SIT there for HOURS and HOURS bored off ur @$$..
When i started the labor pains, we went baby shopping, and I had to sit down every 10min because I was having contractions. I didn't give birth until the next afternoon.. got there at 8 cm, got the epidural, and had her 4 hours later.
I couldnt imagine waiting at the hospital for 24 hours.. It's boring, cold, uncomfortable, and completely out of the "cozy" element.
Congratulations, and hope everything comes out okay. Pun intended. :-)

It's anyone's guess.  You can walk around for weeks dilated to 1,2, even 3,4 centimeters and not feel like you are.  Sorry!  I hope you have a smooth labor, whichever way it goes!!
