Diflucan for Yeast Infection? Is it really effective?

I have a mild yeast infection, i don't have much itching or burning sensation or even difficulty urinating, no pain during intercourse, no foul odor, the only problem is the white cottage cheese discharge that kept on coming back before and after my period, but now it stays long for a week or two, and it's bothering me, i tried eating yogurts and acidophilus, drinking cranberry juice, well maybe it helps because i don't have the itching and soreness problem, but still the white discharge is there, which i will only find out during intercourse because it's all over my husbands manhood since i don't have the itching and burning feeling, but my husband is feeling itchy after, i've search on the internet and i found out about the Diflucan, that according to them will get rid of the yeast infection for just one dose, so we bought it and me and my husband took it, but it's been 3 days now and i still have the white discharge, does anybody tried Diflucan before? and how long it will take effect? or does it mean that it will not work on me? i don't want to try creams because it's messy.

Thanks! it's ok now, it's all gone, i ask the doctor and according to him, it usually stays and works on our system for 7 days, i'm just so eager to get rid of that white stuff down there that i can't wait to see the result.

I've never had a white discharge with any of my yeast infections but the burning and itching went away with it. Sometimes strong yeast infections need 1 dose of Diflucan followed by another dose in 3 days. Ask your doctor.
