Embarassing Odour, I need some advice.

I am 18 years old, and I have never been sexually active with men, only one woman. Its been months since I last had sex (about 6 months) and for the past two months I have noticed a rather cheesy-smelling odour coming from my nether region. I have been on birthcontrol (seasonale) for about six months or more, and only for the last few months i noticed the smell. I am a little worried, my diet has not changed, i havent had sex in a very long while with anyone and i havent taken any new drugs for anything else. I dont know if its my birth control or if its something im doing wrong. When im in the shower i usually clean down there, and i change my underwear every single day. i thought the smell would just go away, but it didnt its getting worse, before i could only smell it when i was in my pjs or shorts but now i can smell it all the time no matter what im wearing, and i have to keep my legs closed all the time. I dont have any inflamation or itching, my discharge is the same color as its been since puberty and i havent changed my daily routine in any way. im scared that i have an infection and not doing anything about it might affect my health, i havent spoken to my doctor yet because i have been busy with college, i talked to my best friend about it and she said it might be bacterial vaginosis, i looked it up online, and the problems they described are exactly like mine.. i dont know what to do, im litterally attraccting flies and im rather paranoid about other people being able to smell my odour. please help!

The GYNOs in canada only see you on referal from family doctors. Im not sure if asking my family doctor what will happen if she will give me a trial of antibiotics right away or if they need to test me. Ive been on my period for three weeks due to breakthrough bleeding from my current birth control, and im switching in the next two weeks to a monthly birthcontrol and im wondering if that will help or if im screwed. Im humiliated that this all is happening. im going to go look for some yogurt when i can borrow some cash, is there any other home remadies that can just reduce the odour until i can see my doc?

I know it *****, but the best way to find out what's happening is going to your OBGYN and getting it checked out. If you are confident that it isn't sexually related than you could be having symptoms of a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis (both are extremely common among women and they can happen to any lady at any time, so it's nothing to be ashamed about) If you are going to wait to see a doctor I would try over the counter yeast infection medication...and don't douche or 'overly' clean yourself down there because this can make the 'friendly' bacteria in your vagina go hay-wire! Eat yogurt with ONLY the words 'Live and Active Cultures' on it, because these are great healthy bacteria to put into your system and many women with reoccuring bacterial vaginosis have seen its effects. Yogurt will not cure this, but it will help keep things stable down there after your done with an antibiotic run, IF that is the case. Bacterial vaginosis is EASILY treated with a course of antibiotics but that needs to be confirmed with your doctor. Good luck to you!
