Endometrial Ablation

I am going to be having  Hysteroscopy, Endometrial Ablation. I am 40 yrs old and I would like to know, after this procedure do you still have the urge for sex, or is it painful or what

its not a hysterectomy that you have.  You have a histeroscopy first then an ablation.  You still have your womb and your ovaries.  It is intended for those who have completed their family, are aneamic or have heavy periods.  You are counselled to say you realise you won't have any more children and then you sign something to say you have completed your family.  However, when it comes to understanding "completed your family and can't have children" they say that is not the same as saying "can't get pregnant".  Yes, could sue, but don't really want my family in paper etc.

This was not painful at all.  The operation and recovery was quick for me, however I did rest for a few days as suggested.  I have 3 young children and let others do everything, and as such recovered really quickly.  As for the sex, absolutely fine (obviously bit nerve wracking first time!!).  However, I have just found out I am pregnant, so really ensure that they counsel you properly as I was told not possible to have more children.
