Ethically sourced hair?

Im looking into a human hair wig, but am a bit concerned about how ethically sourced the hair is?  Does anyone know where the har comes from?

Hi Robert. Sorry for asking so many questions, but I got onto the website www.onlinewigstore.co.uk after looking at Bloomsbury of London online for a while.
Was your hair from this selection? If so, which range?
Thanks!

I have had my hair piece for six months so far, and with regular washing and care, it is still in excellent condition.

Has anyone else used this method? How long does the hair wig last? Thanks

My hair replacement system was applied using a thin layer of polyurethene, attached to the front of my scalp. I find that this is comfortable, easy to maintain and extremely natural to see.
Bloomsbury of London deserve their great reviews in my opinion!

I have seen reviews of Bloomsbury and seen great reviews (as mentioned previously). Which method have you used?

Not sure if I have seen you on another thread. I have been to Bloomsbury of London (presuming your referring to the salon in Northington Street)  for a hair system, using polyurethene. Am very satisfied and found them most helpful.

I have found very positive reviews on this website: http://www.verity-pcos.org.uk/

Has anyone else heard of anyone (friends or family) with experience from Bloomsbury?

Thanks so much for that link! Have you seen any positive reviews? That forum was from 2009, so not sure if the standards are the same now...

I don't know but I did google it and here is a link forum that is talking about them and other wig places. http://www.heralopecia.com/interact/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=11865&p=137253 Reading through I think they are a pretty shaky company but they do talk about other companies on there that they like. You may be able to join and see where they like to get their wigs. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

I don't know anything about that at all lol. What ever you do research the company to make sure they are legitimate and don't have a bad reputation for dealing with customers and customer complaints. Best wishes.

Thats so nice! I have read quite a bit on the net, with different opinions on where the hair comes from.  I noticed the hairharvest website where they buy ponytails of the public.
What do you think?

I wasn't either. I donated for children who have Leukemia and lose their hair during chemo treatments.

No, I donated to a company that make wigs for cancer victims and diseases like Alopecia. I do know that it is processed and tested to make sure it can be made into a wig and wont break ect.

I have found a company that takes donated hair and pays the givers, were you paid?

I just went to the salon and they put it in pony tails and cut it off. You have to have at least 8 inches. Then I printed off their form and mailed it in. You may want to check the internet to see about the human hair wigs and check to companies to see where they get their hair from. Best wishes.

I too have donated. Actually my entire family did. My youngest sister got ALL so we all cut our hair and donated it to locks of love. It has to be of certain length, and is made into wigs for children under 18 (or 21) who are suffering from long-term hair loss from whatever illness or disease.

Are you looking into getting on for yourself, or making it.

Thats amazing! Could you tell me a bit about the process? Or did you donate it independently... Many thanks Sissie

Don't know exactly but I would assume it is from people that donate their hair when they get it cut. I just donated 17 inches in March to the locks of love. best wishes.
