Generic seasonique

MarblebrainsExternal User
Hi, I have been on seasonique (generic) for over a year now. Ever since that time my body has gone down hill with a lot of things such as skin problems, nail problems, hair dryness, no libido. I was wondering if it could be the seasonique doing it?

Thank you so much for your reply. I just talked with my dr. My neck is swollen underneath my Adam's apple and although I do not have the weight gain I have the other problems you listed. I also have elevated parathyroid hormone levels, no appetite most of the time, when I do get hungry I cannot eat much without getting full fast. I have spotting now and I am still on the amethia I also have severe back pain and possibly kidney stones again. My body is just a mess lately and I don't know how to get it under control. Most doctors like to address one thing at a time and just treat the symptoms but I think they're all related somehow.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These symptoms can be due to hypothyroidism and without checking the thyroid hormone levels, one cannot say for sure. Symptoms of hypothyroidism are fatigue, depression, weight gain, cold intolerance, dry, coarse hair and skin,  constipation ,muscle cramps, decreased concentration, vague aches and pains, menstrual disorders, palpitation and swelling of the legs.

I feel that you should consult a physician and get yourself and your thyroid hormone levels evaluated.
Other than that get your estrogen, progesterone and FSH levels checked as hormonal imbalance in menopause can also cause such symptoms. Side effects of hormonal birth control pills can also cause these.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
