HELP! Itchy Labia, uncontrollable

I am currently 24 weeks pregnant with my second. About 3 months ago my dr said I had signs of a yeast infection and I was given some meds, along with taking apple cider vinegar baths, and the problem disappeared. What I have now seems very different and its driving me INSANE! The inside of my vagina, or my labia becomes so itchy when I lie down to go to sleep/nap. When I am up during the day it doesnt bother me at all, but at night I feel like Im losing my mind. I have tried taking showers before I go to sleep and making sure the area is kept clean and let to breathe, but its just not helping. It itches so bad that I have to scratch and my labia is very red and irritated. I have no unusual discharge or odor changes, just the absolutely uncontrollable itch. I have tried taking an IBU at night to see if the blood flow to the area may be affecting me and causing the itch, but that does not seem to help either.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to ease it? I have this problem when my husband and I have sex, that my vaginal area becomes very inflamed and irritated after, to the point of having to ice it and take tylenol. I have spoken to my dr about that and he said if I have any other issues he'll want to do a pelvic exam. So I really think it may have something to do with the extra blood flow to the area during pregnancy. Seeing as I have never had this problem before and it only occurs when I lie down at night. But ladies, PLEASE HELP. As if sleeping while pregnant isn't hard enough already!

Hello, I have been going through THE EXACT same itching scenario. I am in my second trimester and might I add I am very clean, take showers more than often and stay hydrated and for the last 5 days I have had this itch only on the external area the "lips" / labia of my vagina and I have tried everything. It ooonnly does this at night and LORD knows sleeping at night is already a challenge. SO I ruled out the shower theory of cleaning right before bed, changing my underwear, 100% cotton and using softer fabrics that allow the vagina to breath. There is no odor or odd colored discharge...but the ITCH is something to fight. So my form of at home treatment was just putting vaseline at night after a fresh shower. This worked but didn't stop the itching. SO I was about to scratch my vajajay out of this world, like I was about to lose my mind and I didn't want to tear my skin up because it takes the energy of the hulk to avoid scratching. SO i thought about the many many reads I have been finding online with other women who share the same issue/ struggle. This made me feel relieved because I was like what in the **** is going on. I cannot do the yogart eating since baby does NOT care for yogurt although thats my personal treat I cant eat it now...so I thought hydroquinone, I ran to my lady pantry of all "our" goodies ( like medicines, sun screen, bug bite screams, robitussin, benadryl type items) and grabbed Cortizone 10!! Then I grabbed some fresh q-tips and applied it on the exterior of the vagina NOT INSIDE- as it does not itch inside and I would never recommend anyone insert any cream inside without seeking doctor's approval. But I literally trimmed the extra long hairs in that area ( that took forever since it's uncomfortable to bend let alone see your kitty LOL. But I made sure this area is clean first and free of extra hair. Applied the Cortisone on the inside of the labia lips- not inside the vagina and along the areas that gave me the itch from hell. It tingled a bit but I assure you it won't compare to the feeling of that horrible itch. Within 1 minute the itching has left and disappeared. Placed on some fresh cotton maternity panties and Im relieved like a baby with a changed diaper. I will indeed contact my doctor tomorrow and let her know that Im struggling with this itch on the labia and schedule and appointment to have her review and make sure I am ok. I know it is not STD related, or STI so it may just be hormones. BUT until you can get to your doctor's office please try that instant safe relief and only if you are NOT allergic to the cortisone ingredients. Otherwise I recommend this because if not you will scratch your vagina labias to bleed unintentionally. I hope this helped. Nonetheless def reach out to your OBGYN/Doctor and let him/her know so that you can rule out and find out how to address this epic itch. :)
