Heavy flow after period sex

Hey girls!
So I got my period on Friday dec 8 and my bf cane over unexpectedly. One thing led to another and we ended up having period sex. Normally my flow isn’t very heavy and a reg tampon will do. Before we did it it looked like it was going to finish the next day but afterwards was like something you’d see in a horror movie! (May be exaggerated a little. But there was a lot more blood than normal) like a super tamp barely does the job... :/

my bf and I have been together 11 months and I’ve never done this (period sex) before so is it normal to bleed that much after the deed?
Please helpppp...?
Thanks <3

I’m 18 and been on Birth control for 5 years.

Ya know, maybe it was your menstrual blood mixed with secretions from the sex so it got thinner and more?  I'm not really sure.  I would not think it is anything to worry about though.  Should wind down like your periods normally do.  good luck
