Ohkk... Sure, i will.
Have a nice day
Sweetie, I'd stay off the internet. For a lay person to be trying to diagnose and interpret off the internet is how health care consumers get themselves in trouble.
She has a diagnosis and a prescription for antibiotics. Has she started taking them? That is what she should do. And then she needs to consult with her regular physician. If she doesn't have one, now is the time to either get one or make alternative arrangements. (such as an urgent care doctor).
WBC is white blood cell count and whenever the body is fighting an infection, this count is higher. (white blood cells come to the rescue to fight infection).
Please have her take her antibiotics and then follow up with a doctor. good luck
The tests mentioned includes:
T3, T4, TSH
HB%
TLC
DLC
ESR 74
RBS
can you also tell what if i see everything in the blood report within the normal range?
Bcz i read on some website that infacted person's WBC will show high in count.
Hi there, actually swabbing the cervix is one of the ways they diagnose PID. Just clarifying from above. How did the doctor diagnose her then? they do this to determine which organisms are causing the infection. Now, some doctors when they are sure there is an infection based on symptoms will use an antibiotic that covers the typical organisms seen in PID. (similar to what many doctors do with any other type of infection). Did they culture her discharge? Or her urine? Those are other ways to culture.
They can do further testing to confirm the diagnosis which includes ultrasound.
You can get PID from wearing a tampon too long. (That is the warning that tampons carry in every package) so it is not just std's and multiple sex partners that can contribute to PID.
If it were me personally, I'd take the antibiotics just as prescribed and see if they work. If she was diagnosed in an ER, she should have a follow up visit with her regular doctor. If she doesn't have a regular doctor, she can go to a clinic or urgent care for follow up which should be done at the end of the 15 days.
good luck
If they did take swabs from cervix then it wont be for PID… PID is hard to find but ultrasound is one of the ways to know! When she does start trying for a baby and she finds it hard to concieve then they will send her for an ultrasound to check everything, im pretty sure they also do dye test aswell
Highlighting that she is sexually inactive for last 2.5yrs (quite long time) now she is being diagnosed with PID. What we read was doctor will take a swab from cervix and veginal discharge but they did not ask for any of these... Still reported PID, should we doubt the reports?
If yes, Will she be able to get pregnant after finishing 15 days course?
Hi there and welcome/ Well, she did the right thing by seeking medical attention and that is the help she needed. PID is an infection of those areas and if left untreated, it can be life threatening. However, she's now had medical attention and the antibiotics should work well. Make sure to remind her to take them faithfully UNTIL GONE. She will start to feel better in about 48 hours after taking the antibiotics but they must be taken for the full course of therapy so that the PID is fully treated and doesn't come back worse than the first bout. But she should recover just fine. Take care and good luck
