Hidradenitis Suppurative (HS)

I don't have a question but thought I would pass this on to all women who suffer from boils, blackheads, lumps etc.
This is a disease of the sweat glands.  Most doctors aren't aware of this.  Condition causes chronic scarring, plus formation in the underarm, groin or inner thigh areas.  In women can also occur under the breasts.

Please read this if you are suffering from any of the above symptoms.

I had this for 10 years and just found out what it was.  Right now I have a huge egg-like lump in my labia.
I hate this and hopefully will go down or will have to make a doctor's visit again.  My doctor did not know what
this was because there is no cure and it is rare.

Join the HS support team and read all the comments from the women and men.

Thank you for writing back.  I was at my family doctor's office two days ago and told him about my disease.  He didn't know what I was talking about.  Yesterday morning I took over copies that I printed off from the
computer so he is aware of this disease.  He has treated me twice with
antibiotics, but didn't know what it was.  My "huge egg" is starting to
go down on it's own.  This is the weirdest disease I have ever seen.
I'm 61 now, and it doesn't really matter anymore, but I really feel sorry
for teenagers or the like to have to deal with this.  It is so embarrasing
and I too am scarred and it looks terrible.  You can't exactly go to anyone
and ask them to remove these huge blackheads.  I also avoid underwear
when I can.  As soon as I get home everything comes off and I put PJ's on
that are nice and loose.  I'm so glad I don't have them under the arms or
breasts.  I got spared.  Maybe cause I'm thin and not overweight.

You will find all the comments interesting and the pictures will just blow
you away.  It's sad how people have to suffer with this.

Talk to you again.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing this information.  I have never heard of this disease and am eager to read up on it and learn as much as I can as there are many, many questions posted on this forum about boils, lumps, blackheads, etc.  I myself have had a few that have been painful and have left scars throughout the years.  I hope you have success in ridding the egg like lump you have now.  Good luck to you and again, thanks for sharing :)
