Hip/abdominal pain

For the past three days I have had very severe pain, like a needle being pushed into me. This has spread across my abdomen. Someone suggested that it could be ovarian, but I have just come off prednisolone and know that I need a new hip.
Any ideas?

Yes. I weaned off the steroids and was very careful. I will have my ovaries checked. Many thanks, Lorrayne.

I have been on prednisolone 5mg daily for about 10 years and reduced that to 2.5mg for one week prior to stopping. I discussed this with my doctor who said that stopping was the best thing I could do and that the symptoms should wear off in about two weeks. Was that too fast?

Did you wean off the prednisolone? It is important to do that, as suddenly stopping can cause kidney damage. I strongly recommend you go see a doctor. Many people who stop steroids can have adrenal failure. It wouldn't hurt to get your ovaries checked out by ultrasound either.
