How long will it take for my hormones to go back to normal?

I'm an 18 yr old female, relatively healthy, and in about the beginning of may I decided to try to take Vitex to try to balance my hormones. I've had irregular periods since I hit puberty, my period can skip months and it's never ever regular. I've also suffered from mild hormonal acne. I was taking Vitex for a month as well as DIM for a little bit but it blew up my face and made everything worse than better. It was my fault for trying to solve my hormonal issues without knowing exactly which hormones are unbalanced. It's been about 2 months since I've been off of Vitex & DIM and I haven't noticed an improvement at all, in my skin and body. I'm wondering how long it will take my body to go back to how it was before I started all this. Next week I'm going to get a referral to see an Endocrinologist so hopefully I can get treated for my hormones, but the question that's bothering me the most is how long my body will take to recover from the hormonal disaster than Vitex and dim caused.
