Is it herpes...or could it be something else?

Hi everyone, I'm new to these forum things. I'm freaking out over here!

About two weeks ago, I was having a lot of itchiness and discharge so I automatically assumed it was a yeast infection. (I've had BV twice before and a yeast infection for the first time two months ago) Without consulting a doctor, I went ahead & got the Monistat 7 Combination Pack.

I used it for the full 7 nights, each night the itching increased. The last night of the treatment, I woke up sweating. I had a fever and body aches. The following day I developed bumps/sores on my hands, around my mouth, & in my throat. (My kid has hand, foot, & mouth disease so I was certain I caught the virus) Coincidentally, I had an outbreak of sores in my outer labial & pubic area. Of course, I immediately scheduled an appt w/ the ob/gyn.

She said it looks like it could be an outbreak from a bad yeast infection, or a reaction to the monistat, or it MIGHT be herpes. Herpes being the worst-case scenario. She took a swab culture & blood test, & I can expect results in 3-4 days. (I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG!!)

I'm panicking because I've been reading up on the herpes virus & symptoms include fever, body aches, & throat ulcers. Which are ALSO symptoms for Hand Foot & Mouth Disease.

I also read another forum where a girl misdiagnosed her BV as a yeast infection & using the Monistat gave her blisters also.

I'm praying it's not Herpes. I've been with the same partner my whole life! Please, if anyone has any idea what it could be (besides herpes) comment below!

Im not sure if this helps but I've been misdiagnosed with herpes before.I was pregnant and I had a sore on my vagina and the dr told me it was herpes for sure and I was so scared I cried every day. I was making my self sick and sending my bloodpressure through the roof.About a week later my test came back and I didn't have them. So just calm down and wait for your results. There's a possibility it's not herpes.☺

Hello , not a doctor but i've heard that using yeast infection medication over herpes causes an increase in symptoms. You should calm down and try avoiding stress and wait for your result
