It could happen from shaving.
Has a biopsy of the area ever been obtained? Lichen Sclerosus came to mind or something similar to it.
And this has nothing to do with her Herpes diagnosis? And you know this for sure?
I am not sure if this is some allergy situation or something else.
Has she switched the material of her underwear, i.e. from cotton to silk or synthetic? Is she using any femine wash or powder? Is she using anything perfumed in regards to sanitary napkins or tampons? Has she changed her body wash or her laundry detergent?
I am assuming she has seen a GYN Specialist.
Really? Because she has shaved for years and this didn't happen before. It would be strange, because the area that itches has no hair at all.
Hm I don't think it's Lichen Sclerosus, the gyn specialist (the last one we've been to) would have seen it in the inspection, right?
Now that you mentioned it may be a feminine wash that she started using recently. She'll stop using it to evaluate the results, lets wait and see.
Her herpes only shows up as a single blister between the vagina and the anus, which is not the itchy area. Although the doctor diagnosed as herpes it looks quite different from the ones I have (various small blisters spread out).
Well thanks for the help, let's hope it's the feminine wash.
Well....stop the feminine wash and see what happens. Perhaps it is something this simple.
No, you CANNOT see LS (Lichen Sclerosus) visually. A biopsy of the area would have to be done to confirm this condition.
Thanks for your help Londres70, but I think the mystery is solved.
I noticed a very mild burning sensation in my penis when I took a pee, and inspecting my underwear there were very small yellow drops.
After this evidence, my conclusion is that we both have chlamydia, and since my symptoms were not noticeable in me, I kept re-infecting her multiple times. This is why the itching would come back after a week.
I feel sad for her and angry at the doctors. Three different doctors didn't ask the most basic questions about her sex life and just gave her loads of pills.
Really disappointing professionals, failed to detect one of the most common and simple STD's.
Just wondering where you are getting this Chlamydia dx. from. Is this something you think? Have you had this before? If you haven't been checked.....go do that ASAP.
I wasn't really going in the direction of STDs because you all are a couple and I just assumed monagamous as well. Itching isn't really a symptoms of Chlamydia.....Yeast Infections.....yes.
Weird that Chlamydia didn't show up with the lab analysis.
Chlamydia is a nasty one.....if left untreated this can cause sterility in a woman.
DO GET YOURSELF CHECKED AND SHE NEEDS TO BE RECHECKED AS WELL. This needs to be verified properly. I wouldn't be upset with the physicians especially if you didn't have yourself checked. Ideally, you BOTH should have been checked.
Many of her symptoms pointed to Chlamydia:
-tingling sensation when urinating
-itchy vagina
-pain during sex on certain positions
-a little bit of vaginal discharge sometimes
No doctors this time. Yes I am angry with them, rushing the medical appointments to get the money quickly and move on to the next patient. Didn't ask her many key questions, didn't ask about her sexual life, didn't care about anything. Just gave her the meds for generical fungal/bacterial issues. She is even angrier than me.
So friday I just went to the drugstore by myself and bought 2 boxes of azithromycin. We took it together, and by sunday we no longer had symptoms.
We're giving sex a break for a few more days just to be sure that we're both clear again. But there's no resistant strain of Chlamydia, so if this was the case then we will be fine.
I know that you must be thinking "are you freaking out of your mind?", but bear in mind that we do not live in a fully developed country, and many things here do not work the way they should. Hospitals and clinics are a good example, I noticed this from the smallest dirty clinic to the best hospital in town, both just don't really care and give (sell) us an overkill dose of pills.
