Brown discharge, never had my period before...is this it?
Hmm...anyways im 15 years old, a late bloomer...i've always been athletic, and small for my age.i have developed hair in the areas, some breast development (since about 2 years ago), have had a whitish discharge, and have hit somewhat what you could call a growth spurt. However, i have never had my period. Yesterday when i changed to pj's, i found a brown substance (discharge) on my underwear, then i just ignored it. This morning, i went to the bathroom, and when i whiped, there was a brownish dishcharge on the toilet paper. Is this my period? If so, will it be heavier later on, when i get it a few more times? I told my mom, and she said to keep an eye on it, and wear a panty liner. I searched the internet (google) to find answers and it seems it cant be pregnancy since im not sexually active (of course), and i cant have an STI because im not sex. active, and the only other option is that ive started my period, because it says your first can be in the form of a brown discharge. Is this true? Any input?
It probably is your period... I'm not doctor nor do I know exactly what your case is, but I started my period the exact same way and at the age of the 13. It will probably continue for a few days and might even get heavier depending on how your flow goes and you might not get it exactly once a month in the beginning since it's slowly regulating. But the reason it is brown is because the blood from the uterus is a little older, seeing as this is your body's first time. Good luck! Hope this helps!
