Late Period for no apparent reason...PLEASE tell me if this has happened to you.

I have researched this to death, and seems like everytime I find a thread where the people have gone more than a few days past I am finding more people saying they eventually found out they were pregnant than that their periods came even after getting multiple negative tests.

I have had very regular cycles, they vary within a day or two but usually 26-28 days. The longest I have ever gone has been 32.

I am NOW on Day 38. I have tested negative on several hpts over the week some detecting as low as 25mius, and really feel the possibility of being pregnant is slim, though possible I suppose if the condom failed.

I have had lots of symptoms that are similar to the way I felt when pregnant with my other children. But could be pms symptoms to I suppose.

I have not been stressed, changed eating or excersize habits, but am 39.

PLEASE, tell me if you experienced a late cycle out of the blue that never had an explanation as to why. If I wasn't stressed before, I am now. I'm going to take another test in the morning, but if that is negative I will call the doctor.

My thought is that one's hormones get a bit fritzy for a whole decade or so before menopause, having fun driving women nuts with their unpredictability.  You might have simply not ovulated this month, so your body (being very pragmatic about expending energy) determined it would be too much work to have a period.  I wouldn't be too worried, at 39 it is far harder to GET pregnant than to keep from getting pregnant, and you did have protection.  A ton of women who are ttc at this age do the wild thing over and over with charts and timing and ultralube and prayer and still don't get pregs.  Your chances are slim to none, in my opinion.  All the best!

Thank you, Feel pretty confident (yeah right) that I am not pregnant b/c I do factor in the age and the condom (However he didn't use it in the beginning just when it supposedly counted), but then as my husband says..yeah, but YOU aren't normal., he is the one "stressing" and putting the doubt in my mind.

You see I spent 6 years going through fertility treatments with ZERO luck, adopted a child and got pregnant THREE DAYS later, with my second child got pregnant first try and she didn't register on a pregnancy test til I was 7 days late... but I'm now past that so it SHOULD register.

The good news is I just got another BFN! the bad news is still no af on cd 39.

i have had several cycles i was a week late throughout my years. and the worry if could you be pg or not can make a difference. id say if you used a condom then your chances are pretty slim. not impossible. maybe try to relax and just not think about it. call your dr if you want and see what they suggest.
