Lost tampon blocking period a month later

Im almost 14. I did not get my period last month and I started to worry about if i had left a tampon inside me and it was blocking the blood.
I started my period a little more than a year ago when i was 13 (bday in december) and it was every 2 months at first for a while then it got to be regular. Last month i did not get it and i immediately worried that i had left a tampon in from the month before. now it is almost a month from when i missed it.
i feel like im going to get my period (i have had this feeling before and been right) so i finally decided once and for all to look to see if there is a tampon inside me and i didnt find anything but my finger came out bloody (only a little and the blood was like period blood). However there has been no blood in my underwear at all today. What is going on and should i be this worried? I will post if I get my period tomorrow.

The vaginal canal is very short- only about 3-4 inches before it meets your cervix which has an opening smaller than a pencil tip. You cannot lose a tampon inside your body because it has no where to go except back out the way it came. Forgetting to take one out for a long time would eventually lead to a smell, a yeast infection, and it would most likely absorb your normal bodily fluids to the point where it would be impossible to ignore.

Please be careful leaving tampon products in for longer than the box recommends, usually about 6-8 hours. There is a safety pamphlet inside all boxes of tampons that explains the risk of wearing them for long periods of time, mainly TSS- Toxic Shock Syndrome, which is rare but can be life threatening.

For your irregular periods, I recommend keeping a calender to keep track of your cycle which can also help a doctor determine if there is something going on that may have your body out of whack. Every woman has a different pattern when it comes to days or heaviness, and sometimes early periods take a while to regulate. Keep in mind also that MANY things can affect your hormones and make your cycle change or even stop temporarily- increased stress, weight changes, excessive exercise, and eating habits for example.

You would have cramping or really bad smell/discharge if u had one in there for more than a few days, & even if there was one, it would not block  blood from new menstration.

do you mean bleeding is a side affect of leaving it in there, really i think i might have forgot about it when i was suposed to take it out which has never happened.

If you had left it in there, there would have been some severe problems right now.  If you were bleeding, it would have already been making it past the tampon.  It could be things are really light right now.  If you're concerned, I'd ask for a doctor's appointment.
