Luteal Phase Defect

Im scared I have luteal phase defect. Im going for bloodwork tomorrow which will be day 19 of my cycle. (6 dpo). Hopefully that will help, but I have been tracking my BBT, had a drop on day of ovulation, but have not seen a rise past my coverline. Also, I get my period 12dpo, which I know is a bit sooner than the normal.
Has anybody else experienced this. I have been ttc for 5 MONTHS now.. I need somebody to talk to, I'm feeling very sad lately and like I'm losing all hope. I want a baby so much, its heartbreaking.
Thanks
Megan

Thanks Nickie, I really apprecaite your feedback! Im trying not to feel too down but its hard. My biggest fear is not ever having a child, which would be like the biggest slap in the face since I've only been thinking about it since I was 10 years old! But yes I did get the bloodwork. Im pretty sure I ovulated, I used the OPK test, and was watchihng my cervical fluid with the BBT as well, but my BBT just hasnt risen like it is suppose to, which is a cause for concern to me. Thank you again I apprecaite any advice and yours was helpful. I guess all I can do is hope and pray and maybe Ill get lucky!
thanks again.

Hi Megan. I do not have a LPhase defect but I do have PCOS (and it took me over two years to get pregnant this time around)... I take it since you are having blood work done is it to see that you in fact ovulated? I had the same testing done before I was diagnosed with PCOS last year and I hadn't ovulated at all. DPO12 actually isn't really considered too much of a problem it is usually if you are having your period starting before 10 days past ovulation. 5 months (although it seems like forever) isn't that unusual, and most doctors won't start treatment, unless you are not ovulating all together, until the 12 month mark. It is possible that you are having some type of hormonal imbalance that is preventing pregnancy but you are already having the hormone testing done. I hope that they find that you are not having a problem but if you are there are usually easy ways to fix it =) Don't get too down on yourself!
