what is a cryopathy? what is a LEEP procedure? Will this help my daughter if her diagnosis does come back, displasia? she recently had a coloscopy (she's only 15)
I would ask for the cryotherapy... but i would not worry about the leep procedure, i had high grade dysplasia last summer and had the leep done.. since then my colpo results have been good... But i remember my gyn explaining to me that mild dysplasia does not always need treatment because it could go away on its own EXEPT you have to wonder because high grade dysplasia like i had must of started mild before it got severe right?
i would ask for the procedure and would not take the chance... trust me when i was told my result after my first exam i was freaked out because i never had a bad pap result in the past... and you d'ont want to have to worry about is it gona get worst or not....
For getting pregnant i would not worry about the leep because my first question after i was told that i would be getting the leep done was can i have more children? because my husband and i want more.. my gyn told me no problem but i still went to see a second doctor to make sure... and he told me the same thing... if you search on the net or even on this site you will read that a lot of women had healthy babies after having the procedure done...
i wish you luck...
I had a LEEP done a few weeks ago. I was diagnosed with moderate dysplasia and guess what? When the tissue removed during the LEEP was evaluated, it was all normal. They think that they got all of the affected tissue out when they did the biopsy during the colposcopy. If you only have mild dysplasia, I personally would wait 6 months. I have read that 70% of mild dysplasia disappears on its own. With that being said, if you wait, it will be absolutely essential that you go in for your pap in six months.
Also, just so you know, having a LEEP does not at all mean that you can't carry a child. In fact, the risk of a LEEP affecting your ability to carry a child is very, very small. It's something like a 2% increase in risk of delivering pre-term. They have to mention it to you, but honestly, if you check out the research, the risk is incredibly small.
i had a leep done about 3 years ago and just recently i had an abnormal pap and a colpo which showed i has mild to moderate dysplasia and i was freaking out that this was happening to me again. i decided to have a nother colpo done y the doc who did my previous leep. it was scheduled for in a month, so in that month i decided to help my body fight off the changing cells in my cervix by taking lots of vitamins and herbs that help boost your immune system also herbs that help fight cancer as dysplasia can be a precursor to cancer. When i went back for the 2nd colpo the test results showed there was no dysplasia only mild inflamation. i believe natural cures can help your body do its job when started early enough. I would give your body a chance to try to heal on its own do some research to see how you can help it. but don't forget that it is mandatory that you go back in 6 months to get your exam done
Hi! I had the LEEP done right after I turned 18 and had my daughter. It's been 3 years now and I am almost 20 weeks pregnant with a perfectly healthy baby boy. They will check your cervix via ultrasound to make sure it doesn't start shortening or anything too early and if by chance it does they can stitch it shut until around 37 weeks so it's safe to deliver. I just had the ultrasound done on Wednesday and my cervix is normal, long, thick and closed. It's your decision, but if it's just mild you might wait the 6 months and see what happens. But if it gets worse you'll want to either do the LEEP or a cryotherapy.
Could you not get the cryotherapy?
I had mild to moderate to severe displaysa...had the cryotherapy done....
And now my paps are normal again.
Good Luck!
