Mirena IUD pregnancy symptoms

Hi guys!  I had a mirena inserted in march 06, i bleed for 2mths straight and then stopped, and got a normal period a month later.  I am 3weeks over due for my period, im always tired, frequent urination, weight gain (eating heaps)...and feeling sick like i want to vomit.  I have also had problems with my bowels (which is common in my pregnancies).  I have three children already oldest is 3 and the young 8mths.  I have got pregnant on the pill, the implant (in the arm)...and im scared im pregnant again.  I had a home preg test which came up neg, then a week later it came up lightly positive.  Just to make sure i took another one three days later and it came up neg.....what is going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Rosalind

It is very strange, I've had my mirena since Feb of 2010, and now, I'm going through the same symptoms...I went to the Immediate clinic on Monday and they said I had a PID, pelvic inflamatory disease or pelvic infection.  I was given a high dose of antibiotics, however, I've been super nauseated since monday and I look very much prego....I go to the OB on tuesday for a follow up and hopefully an ultrasound....Wondering if Mirena was ever a good idea....

I've had Mirena a little over a year now and thought I was pregnant because I had all the symptoms, but it turns out I just had ovarian cysts that ruptured. My breasts got very tender, I started gaining weight and felt nauseated. So if you think your pregnant, ask your doctor about ruptured ovarian cysts, I didn't know what it was until I had a cat scan done.

i have been on merina since sept. 2007 this is my year to get it out. really didnt have any problems withit until this month. Have grown at least a cup size, tender hard breast. light uncomfortable cramping in abdomine, havent had a period since i started merina so its hard fo me to judge by that. took 3 pregnant test 1 was neg. at first then turned positive, and the other two malfunctioned. got a blood test done and waitng on the results. very strange though how so many women have the same issue. starting to think iud is a bad idea.

Hello, I have had the mirena for almost 5 years. I have had zero problems with it until this past year. I have had full 7 day periods and breast tenderness (horrible)! I have also wondered if due to it being the time for me to have mine removed if the IUD is running out of hormones. Therefor I have been doubling up on protection, just in case. But we might not have every time.

I had a period 2 weeks ago but ever since, I have felt like I am pregnant. going for a check up tomorrow and will probably make an appointment to have the mirena removed. Not sure what birth control I will use next, going to ask the Dr. what she thinks. I have been very curious to the research that birth control pretty much makes your body have an abortion. Scary thought. I just pray I'm not pregnant but if so...God knows what He is doing :)

I have had Mirena since 09 now...at first i was just spotting the whole month but now its only occassional...i can go months without spottng at all and at the begining i was scared to be pregnant since there was no spotting and all...i did notice a change in my hormones though...i lost almost all  my want to have intimacy with my husband (wich makes him go nuts) i really dont like that part about it but hey atleast i have no periods!! and then last week i started feeling these weird fluttering feelings in my stomach (well lower) so im feeling kinda weird. just like you i feel the strings and have taken pregnancy tests so i have no clue as to what might be going on.....
