Neverending periods...

I stopped taking birth control pills last September and had normal periods until January.  I started my period in mid-January and bled until March 6!  I started again March 11 and bled through the end of April.  I had a colposcopy, biopsy, and LEEP done then (totally unrelated), and was doing okay until May 9 when I started what I thought was just a regular period.  Here I am, 19 days later and still bleeding moderately.  I called my doctor who offered birth control pills again, but as I had told him before, I don't want to go back on them; that seems like a temporary solution, not an answer to the problem.  Plus, we'd like to get pregnant as soon as possible, but all this bleeing is making it very difficult to know if or when I'm ovulating.  Has anyone had this experience?  What did you do to get back to normal?

My mother actually had a similar problem- she ended up having fibroids in her uterus.  After a series of DnC's which helped the problem for a year here or six months there, she ended up having a hysterectomy to remove a fibroid that was the size of a football.  And this was when she was in her 30's- so not menopause related.  Bleeding comes from something, and usually it is something foreign that has grown and grown its own blood supply as well.  Insist on a vaginal and uterine ultrasound- this would pinpoint it hopefully.

Well the pill can upset any cycle.  If you are bleeding for a long time though you should get your iron levels checked for anemia.  Your doctor is suggesting the pill again for this purpose but as you say you don't want to take it.  You may also be bleeding so much for other reasons.  Ask for a complete blood test for everything. Next see a herbalist.  Sharkeys.com.au specialise in baby making and deliver herbs worldwide.  They helped both my sisters to have healthy babies. Your hormones are all over the place and as you say you want to get that family started.  Good luck!!!
