New to me- prolonged periods, weight gain, acne and emotional

Hi, my names rachel. I have three children, Three months ago my periods started going haywire! for the last 12 years my periods have always been every 28 days, lasting about 5-6 days usually pretty heavy but tolerable. Now, since december my period comes and is super heavy with very large clots. I have acne which has never been an issue before I feel like my emotions are going crazy and my period will last about 6 days then stop for two days then come back for like 5-6 more days. I went to the doc last month who didn't really say anything just gave me nuvaring birth control but I hate hormonal both control so I haven't even started it. Now, I don't have insurance so I can't go back til at least next month. Also, I have gained 9lbs in the last two months and im always hungry ha! Any advice or suggestions on what this could be or what to do would be great!

Could it be PCOS? The symptoms you mention sound similar. Try looking up PCOS on the Internet to see if you think it could be something you have. It messes with your hormones, bcp helps with that. Log your symptoms till you go back to the doctor so it helps pin point your problem. Good luck to you!

It sounds to me like your hormones are going abit haywire, you could try maca as for women it helps regulate your hormones, you can buy it in powder form or capsuals and I would take 1/2 the daily reccomended dose to start with and see how that goes
