Next choice morning after pill

Hi,
I had protected sex on June 23rd (around 11pm - midnight) and the condom broke, but he immediately pulled out and he had not ejaculated yet. I began to get nervous & decided to just purchase the Next Choice morning after pill on June 25th at noon. As I took the 2 pills, they each began to instantly dissolve. I was wondering how do you know the pill is working and what symptoms should you experience? Did I take the pill correctly? Its been 2 days since I took these pills.

What if the morning pill just dissolved on your tongue and you didn't swallow it? Will it still work ?

I've used Next Choice and while usually I take my medication by floating my pills and swallowing, I've taken some, including Next Choice, pill first, then a drink of water and swallowing them. They tend to dissolve on your tongue a bit, it's not an issue. I'm guessing you probably drank more to help get them down which would wash pretty much anything extra down, plus your saliva will, too. Most of what a pill is made up of (especially EC and birth control pills as the dose of hormones is so small) is the binders and fillers, anyway.

I wouldn't worry about it, you took the pills as directed since the two-dose Next Choice can be taken in one dose.

Some women don't have really any noticeable physical symptoms immediately, though I always expect it to throw my period off when I take it and it does, that's pretty common and don't be surprised if it does that. Also, the day you take it, it can cause an upset stomach/nausea, especially if you take on an empty stomach (which I'm always being forgetful and doing when I use it), give you a bit of diarrhea, and those are the main two things that are really noticed most often. I tend to be a little 'off' in mood that day, too.

Brown-ish or reddish brown spotting to almost like a period can pop up at any time after taking it, that's another side effect. Sometimes it lasts a few days, sometimes it drags on until your period arrives.

Even if you don't have any side effects, don't assume anything. You might simply be lucky. I was given Plan B at the hospital when I was 17 after something happened, I won't elaborate, and I didn't have any side effects when I took that.

What do you mean dissolve? Did you swallow them right away? If you took the pills, following the directions on the box, then you are fine and don't have to worry about pregnancy.
