I don't want to scare you, but my sister experienced night sweats and joint pain and it was Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She went to Mayo in Rochester and they saved her life, but it was a rough year of surgeries, radiation and chemo. She was stage four before someone finally figured out what was wrong. She had cracked vertebrae and later lost all bone mass in her right shoulder and hip, but after the treatments, it all came back. She's been okay for seven years now. The doctors told her that usually lymphoma is so hard to diagnose that they usually find it in an autopsy. My sister had it in her lungs and brain before she made it to Mayo, but they were able to help her. Please see if you can find someone to take this seriously because it moves fast.

also,  white patches are often thrush which is caused by antibiotics.  One idea to try for a week and you will see if it is going to work or not: juicing.  Only juice fresh beets, oranges, ginger, carrots, spinach, green apples, celery, cucumber.  and I would put the green things together in one juicing, and the others in another, except the apples and ginger can go in both.  Stay on a complete juiced diet for three days.  If you are feeling better do it for a week.  this can help eliminate any infection that has taken up permanent home in your intestines.

Hi
I found this thread of emails through google and wondered if anyone could help.  I have been suffering for the past 10 months with pain in my forearms and underarms, swollen lymph nodes in groin, red rash when exposed to the sun on my truck, sore throat with white patches, red rash on palette of mouth and general feeling of being unwell.  I have seen 5 doctors which all think i am crazy and have discovered i had a vitamin d deficiency but still have the symptoms. I have been tested for all STD's, mono, arthritis, toxoplamosis all negative as well as had a biopsy on one of the swollen glands.  when i take any new antibiotic it feels like the pain is unbearable like i am somehow fighting an infection but no doctor here seems to be able to help.  If you have any suggestions it would be appreciated. thanks

Reading the first post, it describes exactly what I went though (notice past tense) starting about 4 years ago.  I found a researcher who was the needle in the haystack who knew that all labs for Lyme, babesia and bartonella could be negative if triple infected. If dual/triple infected. it can overwhelms your immune system, which then is unable to fight the illness.  If your body doesn't fight the illness it won't make the antibodies necessary to make these labs positive, so you come out negative on the labs.   And, I have the labs to prove the researcher was correct with both my son and myself...we only tested positive for babesia (a big cause of night sweats and fatigue) on a research lab...and yes it was correct because right on cue I tested positive for Lyme, first with bands showing and then IGM positive as I treated babesia and started to improve....it took 5 months of treatment.  30 % of ticks in CT recently tested positive for babesia, a cousin of maleria.  I have been sharing my labs with every medical professional I know...it is a big deal.  Don't give up hope...I am at 99% right now and never thought it would be possible.  Read up on babesia....it can be difficult to diagnose for many reasons and not many know that and most do not know how sick you can be with this stuff and still have perfect labs...my labs are proof that this can be the case.  And, to the T, I sounded just like the description given and know a few others with what we had that had the same symymptoms/

I found your post via Google.... I've had the same symptoms for three months. I also went to the ER with chest pains and was sent home. My doctor prescribed me Prednasone (steroid/anti-inflammatory)  and I immediately felt better. However, its a temporary fix, and now that I'm being weaned off of it, I'm feeling the symptoms again.

I have an appointment with a rheumatologist to investigate AutoImmune issues. I have tested negative for Lyme, MS, Lupus and Fibromyalgia. I also saw an infectious disease doctor and tested negative for anything bacterial/viral.

Last week I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. However, my endo and surgeon both say some of these symptoms don't have anything to do with thyroid (night sweats, chest pains).

If you get a diagnosis - please post it. And, I will do the same. Good luck to you.

I've been suffering these symptoms and more for many years. The worst of it is when my muscles get really raw feeling, like being sandpapered. It wasn't always that bad, but has progressed that way. I'm only 24 years old.

Through all my research and doctors and everything... I'm coming upon some clues.
1. It starts with an immune system shut down. Due to viral or bacterial or heavy metal poisoning.
2. Candida is always a problem involved... and sugar and yeast and other foods become a huge problem because your immune system is so weak, it can't handle a lot of foods. Food allergies begin and worsen the symptoms. Although the allergies don't really show up on food allergy testing sometimes, and you don't always react with stomach problems or itchy skin. My reaction is different and I've passed all my food allergy tests.
3. Lyme disease is a possibility. I was tested 3 times before having a positive result. I never remember getting bitten by a tick and I HAD to go to a Lyme specialist to rule it out. The Elisa test wont do anything for you. You need the Western Blot and The PCR test done. It seems whatever happened to the immune system makes it easier to pick up things like this.
4. I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. They think this all may be the same thing. Just your body slowly creating autoimmunity due to the intial shut down.
5. I have some thyroid problems that have shown up after years of testing. I passed almost all thyroid tests until I again, went to a specialist and did extensive testing.
6. Somehow it's connected to my Epstein Barr and the Heavy Metal poisoning I got as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if the bacterial thing you had, began all this. Take control of your health before you get worse like me. If it takes 100 doctors and all of them thinking you're crazy, it's worth it. There are tests that will prove you aren't insane. It took so long, that I am more susceptible to MS, RA, Cancer...etc. So it's worth looking into.

I have read all of the above complaints, and I have fell victim to some. I had hyperthyroism which was diagnosed at "Graves Disease". I had my thryoid nuclear burnt out. (You go in and take a pill and it burns the throid out) then I have to take synthroid every day to put back the hormone that the thyroid produces. I have leveled out to a dosage of .75 mcg synthroid which I take daily and then I go every 6 months for blood work to make sure this dosage is enough..What I did not know at the time the Dr. suggested that my thryroid be nucleaur burnt out, is that afterwards, I 0now have AIDS, which is an Auto Immune Deficiency Syndrome, not the HIV AIDS and also, I have a calcium deficiency.  I also have Socolosis, spondolities, and degenerative disk disease which I was diagnosed with these before my Graves Disease.  After my thyroid was nuclear burnt out, my pain in my back, hips, and legs have increased tremendously.  I went to the Dr. a month ago, and he did some blood work to check for Lupus. My blood work came back negative for Lupus.  Now, my question and concerns are could I have Fibromyalgia, as I have no energy, and I go to bed hurting in my joints and muscles and when I awake, I hurt and can hardly walk due to my pain in my legs(more in my ankles and knees. I wake thru the night with my side numb and my back hurts so bad, it is the worst pain I can describe. I have pain in my wrist, and I had that checked out and was told I have tendonitis.  I do have night sweats and at my age, I thought it was probably menopause, but I am on hormones, so I don't know what is causing them now.  I take magnisium, calcium, glucosomine along with pain medication.  I would like to know "what condition my condition is in", as I progress, I feel like I am going to go from a cane straight to a wheel chair..this is terrible as I have no insurance and been turned down from so many insurance companies because of my back problems,,,everyone puts this waiver on my back and what good is insurance if it is not going to cover anything that pertains or is caused as a result from my back... I would like to know if it is "Fibermyalgia" or exactly what the medical terminology would be so I could be on the right medicine for improvement instead of supplements and worry over pain medication destroying my Liiver.  Can anyone help "PLEASE"

I had my thyroid removed 5 years ago.  It was mostly a success except for a few extreme occasions.  My doctor is a "numbers" guy.  If I am within my numbers, any ailment I have he considers to have nothing to do with my thyroid levels.  Last month I started a new birth control, "the ring".  The month before my levels were extremely low, so the doctor raised my dosage.  By the end of this month, my new numbers were extremely high and he lowered the dosage, blaming me taking the "ring" for the change in levels.  But my levels have roller coastered several times and my problem is this: When my levels are very high I have very severe joint pain, like I'm 100 years old trying to walk, with excruciating pain. I have also had severe to moderate muscle cramping. Including full body cramps.  My doctor tells me this has nothing to do with my levels.  When my levels are low, I am like a zombie.  No energy, can't stay awake.   I can live with that if I have to, but the severe joint pain and cramping is almost unbearable.  I don't know where to go to get relief.  My doctor sticks by what he says, It has nothing to do with your levels.  Can anybody help?

Correction:  He no longer requires follow-up, he did have a couple follow-up appt's with a rheumotoid specialist right after being diagnosed.  And he was treated with long-term (like a month I think) high-dose antibiotics (plus an injection on antibiotic).

My son was 11 yrs old at the time, and he had an advanced stage of Lyme...we never saw a tick or a rash!?  I'm surprised at your son't dr. for not wanting to test for Lyme after you found a tick on him and discovered a rash and fever!?!?  Good For You for insisting!  My son's knee was in pain and inflammed and he had a fever.  They thought he had fluid on the knee and did surgery to drain it.  He went thru 4 days of different tests and the unnecessary surgery before they figured out it was Lyme.  Thankfully he seems OK even though it was an advanced stage.  He doesn't require follow-up.  Neither does my sister, niece, father and mother-in-law who have all had it.

How old is your son? How did they treat him?
When my husband was diagnosed they said they could tell whether he had contracted it within the last 30 days or if he had it for longer. Thankfully they said it was in the last 30days.
When my son was 3 yrs old I took him to the doctors about 10days after I had pulled the tick from his diaper area. He has a small rash and a fever. The doctor tried to tell me it was just a rash and a virus. He did not want to test him for lymes but I insisted and I was correct. THey put him on antibiotics for 21 days. The only thing I have heard is he should have some follow up but I have not done that. What did they tell you?

You don't say where you live, but Lyme Disease was going to be my suggestion, but it looks like you've got that covered.  My son was in the hospital a week last year before they diagnosed that, and I've seen several cases with symptoms similar to yours.  Make sure you get that blood test result (don't let them forgot lyme disease).

This is the first time I have ever asked for help on forum page. I truly appreciate everyones input, concern and being so caring.

I had my thyroid checked last year when I started losing almost a pound a day. It was ok. I lost the last 10lbs of my baby weight within 2 weeks. I know most women would love this problem but I was excited to be over 110lbs. I felt good and actually had bought some new clothes that fit,so I was upset when the weight went away, back to safety pinning and rolling my pants.
I have had my sugar checked---it was ok.
I had my blood work done today. They are checking for lupus, lymes disease (last year my husband and my son,3 at the time, both tested positive for lymes at separate times) and I am not sure what else they are checking.

They probably should test for Rh factor, ASO titer, ANA, IgA, IgM, IgG antibodies, epstein barr, CMV along with ESR, serum ferritin and the obvious CBC and CMP as well as the other test you are getting.  My husband has suffered from the symptoms for years and they still don't know.  But, if they find the right tests they could help figure out what's going on with you.
I'll pray for you, and hang in there.  Hope you feel better.

Have you had your thyroid checked? All the symptoms you have listed are common for hyperthyroidism. This can be a serious condition if left unchecked. You need your TSH, free t-3 & free t-4 checked. If they are positive it would be wise to have your thyroid antibodies checked also.        Good Luck & God Bless

Fibromyalgia, Lupas, and RLS all came to mind. Looks like we are all on the same wavelength here.
I Certainly hope that you get your answers soon. I know, knowing, even if it's bad, is better than wondering and worrying.

I started thinking and wondered if you have your hormone
levels checked, also.  You could be entering the "magic age"
a little bit early since you're only 37.  Just a thought.

Have you had your sugar levels checked lately?  Some of the
symptoms you described are similar to symptoms suffered by
diabetics.  You might think about asking your doctor to test
you for diabetes.
