No period in 4 months, not preg

Well, I haven't had a period since April 25 of this year. All of my pregnancy tests come out negative, even the one blood test I took with my primary physician. I went to a specialist and she prescribed me some medicine that will bring down my period but told me not to take them until I get another blood test with the results just to make sure I'm not pregnant. I haven't gone to get the bloodtest yet and It's been about 2 weeks since i've seen the doctor, I'm scared of what might be going on with me. I'm healthy and other than now, have never been late with my period. Has this happened to anyone b4? Have any advice, or think you might know what may be going on here?

I am 27 years old and i didn't get my period for 7 - 8 months now. I went to see a infertility doctor and she prescribed to me Provera which i have to take for 10 days. It is unusual not to get monthly periods. I hope that i get my period after 10 days of being on Provera.

I am a mother of 3 children and in July 03' I had a tubial done. The doctor used a method of all 3.. tied clipped and burned. Prior to my 3rd child I had to have my cervix frozen because of pre-cancer cells. Now I haven't had a period in over 4 months, my stomach cramps like I am on my period but nothing ever happens. I am unsure of what is going on and I have no kind of health insurance at all and do not know where to turn now. Everyday I feel like the muscles in my stomach jumping and kind of flutters almost like a heartbeat ... the home pregnancy tests that I have taken have came back negative. I am so unsure of what to do ... someone please give me some advice!! Thanks alot in advance!!

I havent had a period for 5 months now I have gone to mutiple doctors and found out today that maybe the reason for it is called a Pituitary Gland. It acts as a switch board and triggers your Thyroid if this happens it will make your body do crazy things. I have pregnancy like symtoms even breast milk but I'm not pregnant. The Thyroid creates hormones without the correct hormones your body can go out of wack, I have depression, anxiety, stress, parinoia, I cant sleep I have gained 15lbs. But the fix can be easy getting diagnosed is the hard part. I hope this info can help the rest of you out.
I also have had my doctors look at me like i'm crazy just remember its your body and you have the controll dont take no from a doctor. I went to the doctor atleast once a week for a month, still didnt get any answers. I decided to go see another doctor and got totally diffrent ideas and better advice. I feel guilty for doing that to my Primary Care doctor but atleast now I know more than I have in the past 5 months.
I hope this will help some of you who still hasnt got any answers!!!

I have heard of problems with the pituitary gland also… about tumors on it (don’t wanna scare anyone) but I heard have the doctors to test your prolactin levels which is a hormone and if you have low prolactin you might have a tumor on your pituitary Do your reach search on it it can cause missed periods. But I don’t think I read anything about it being deadly or anything. Thats the best answer Ive gotten from another forum.
Anyway…
I am 18 years old (19 in Feb) and for the past year I have not been having a period for 6 months and then staying on my period for more than a week. I am not on birth control and haven’t been for over a year.
Here some details that may or may not be relevant:
In 2004 I went to my doctor because I was having very bad pelvic pain and she put me on birth control (Ortho tri cyclin lo)
In 2005 I was diagnosed with endometriosis
In 2006 I had a laparoscopy  and was put on the birth control Yasmine and told to take it so that I only have 2 periods a year but I don’t think I ever took it the way I should and had more than that.
In September 2007 I stopped taking Yasmine had a period in October (15th) and November (18th) both lasting for 4 days. Then I didn’t have a period intil June 5 and it stayed on for 10 days. Then from October 22nd intil November 5th and then on the 21st and 22nd I had some very light spotting daily. The discharge would be very light pink or light brown or it would be darker in the morning and by the end of the day it would be off.  Then it actually came on for real December 10th intil December 28th and during that time it was very heavy with large clots. I experienced a little nausea and virtually no cramps.
I see my OB/GYN every February since 2004
I had sex Dec 31st 2007… once a week April & May… 4 times during June & July.. then the last time was Nov 21st.
I have no history of cancer in my family
Im 4’11” and 100lbs
My stress level is very low
My mood stays the same pretty much all the time
I started my period when I was in 2nd grade
I haven’t been to my doctor since Feb 2008
Im not pregnant, Im not tryin to get pregnant nor am I scared.. but I would like to know.. but I just hate the diagnosis process!

Firstly, let me say I've read a lot of your comments and I have all the same symptoms.  i am 32 and went off the pill in September and have not had a period since.  Since I'm trying to get pregnant, obviously no period was a great concern!  I went to my OBGYN, who is a fabulous doctor and is widely known in Eastern Ontario (Canada).  He diagnosed me with Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrom (PCOS). In a nutshell what is happening is I am not producing enough progesterone to "push the eggs out" Which in turn is forming little cysts around my eggs and since the eggs aren't being pushed out, I'm not ovulating.
My doctor prescribed me 10 days of Novo-medrone (10mg) to induce a period.  I took my last pill today.  My period is supposed to start in a couple of days, and then on the fifth day of my period, I start clomid to stimulate ovulation.  Hopefully this will work.  The bottom line is ladies, this is VERY common.  Approx 1 in 3 women experience annovulation (not ovulating) at some point in their lives.  Don't feel like you're not a woman, or abnormal, we're not!  It is common and can be fixed.  Best of luck ladies! You are not alone!  Take Care :-)
