4 months ago I got a yeast infection (which I had NEVER had before) after getting a bikini wax. I went to my obgyn and she gave me a single pill medication, Diflucan, which was to be taken orally. Then two weeks later the infection came back, though not as strongly as the first time around. I started freaking out because I know that recurrent vaginal yeast infections are symptomatic of HIV in women, and because I choose to be abstinent and have no history of drug use, I thought that the only way I could have received HIV was fromn from the bikini waxer who a) did not use gloves and b) placed her bear hands on my broken, bleeding skin. She didn't seem very professional. Anyways, I took the Rapid test at the 3-month mark and it came back negative. My question is this: what are the chances that I could have HIV, given my negative result at 3 months and the way in which I could have acquired it? Also, are rapid tests accurate? What % seroconvert after 3 months (up to 6 mo)? Freaking out!
