PMDD and rage?

For the past year,  I've been having between 1 to 2 weeks of pure rage before my period. I've been looking into this and it may be PMDD, which is a much more severe version of PMS. People normally get more depressing thoughts,  but I just get rage and to an alarming point. Did anyone have any suggestions for treatment? I've read that only 10% of women have this.

Hi,
Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a set of hormonal changes that trigger a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms in women. These symptoms can range from anger and irritability, to abdominal cramping and breast tenderness, to food cravings. PMS is generally felt before menstruation and then stops once menstruation begins.
If your symptoms of rage are severe and they are lasting for one or two weeks then they require treatment. Medications can be taken to have a calming effect. Yoga and meditation can also help to eliminate stress and provide a relaxed state of mind. Consult your Doctor.
The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.

Hello,
Several members of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of antidepressant medications are effective in the treatment of PMDD. You can get them prescribed.
Medications that interfere with ovulation and the production of ovarian hormones have also been used to treat PMDD. Oral contraceptive pills (OCPs, birth control pills) can be prescribed to suppress ovulation and regulate the menstrual cycle.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
