Pads and Swimming

I need to go swimming again during that time of month - the last time I bought every pad I could find, but none of them worked in the pool - can you suggest a pad to use?

I've never tried to use a pad in the pool - I'd think they would either fall apart or be completely ineffective. Have you thought about trying a tampon? Those work in the water :)

I agree, you can't swim with a pad, you will need to use a tampon or not go swimming.

That would be like a baby swimming with a diaper.  Wouldn't it?  It would absorb water and swell, wouldn't it?

I don't think it would swell but I think, like others have mentioned, that it would fall apart.

Maybe someone should do an "experiment" and put one in water for a bit and see what happens. :)

Not me!!  I'm not volunteering for ANY  "experiments" on MED HELP!
People that do, seem to get in trouble for some reason, don't they?

just wear a Depends, that way if it swells it is velcroed on like a diaper so you wont have to deal with the embarassment of it falling out of your bathing suit.

This is the same poster who asked about braiding her pubic hair.
I think she's just trying to stir things up.

Well, it's not stirring things up, but it sure is funny to read what everybody is coming up with, isn't it?

How about not using anything?   That would seem to suit you the best; just as naieve as your question.

I tried to put it as nicely as I could.  Not exactly what I wanted to say, but I'm trying to keep Medhelp happy.

Please see my response to your thread below.

Do ya'll remember the question about the mom who was having a swimming party and a young girl wanted to swim, but had started her period?  For some reason, this post reminded me of that.  Was that issue ever resolved?

This was definitely a good laugh to wake me up this morning. You all had me cracking up.

I read the braiding pubic hair comment below and that's out of this world!!  First off, if anything, wear a tampon to swim or just don't get in the friggin water!! I'd be too paranoid that a red cloud of water would follow me as I swam!! Secondly, if you don't know what to do with your pubic hair, just leave it alone or shave it off!! Why not give it a perm while you're at it? Or better yet, if it's that long to braid, you may not need a pad at all because the extra hair should be extra absorbant. Yeah, that's it, don't wear anything at all!!

This has got to be some guy playing around.
