Hi everyone

i have had the coil for around 10-11 yrs and to be fair i couldn't see a problem, until now. i even recommended it to my younger sister and when i have seen how much weight she has put on i'm surprised. I also have put on a lot of weight maybe around 60lbs. i have spent a long time wondering why i cant loose weight as before i would loose any amount i wanted easily, i put it down to the loss of my first love and emotional eating i have tried to loose it many times and never succeeded more than 8lbs it just increases week on week. i have been looking into these forums for a few weeks now, tomorrow i will go to the doctors to have it removed, i will come back next week or two with an update and my weight and other symptoms.

i have felt like **** for to long now its coming out

I had my paraguard in for 2 years and had it removed 2 days ago because of a horrid oder disharge and my weight is outa control. come to find out the oder was due to the string of the paraguard had speared a tampon so i was walking around for a year in a half  with a piece of tampon wound up on my iud string. I had no idea that could happen but my IUD is now gone and so is the oder. I will never get another IUD and it would be nice if physicians could tell u that could happen

I am doing my research on this and it's so ironic that I came across your post that is almost exactly what I am going through now AND my name is also Andrea!! Haha!! I had the Paragard placed when my second son was 6 weeks old. He's 17 weeks now so I have had it in for 11 weeks now. For over the last month, I have had an excruciating headache that does NOT go away. I'm extremely nauseous. Can't sleep... Really weak..Along with other things. The only thing I can think of is that it's the Paragard. Called my OBGYN today and she thinks it's NOT the Paragard. She told me to go have my eyes checked and lets rule other stuff off first. I had to pay $1000 to have it put in so I really hate to just throw it down the drain but I'm desperate to feel better. How did you end up feeling after having it removed?? Better?? I'd love to hear back from you. I'm searching for answers. A friend of mine was on the 10th year and was going to have the Paragard removed but it was embedded into her uterus and she had to have surgery to remove it!! That freaks me out too.
