Partial hysterectomy/ endometriosis

I just had a partial hysterectomy due to a VERY large Hem-ridging, blood filled cyst also EXTREME endometriosis. I have to go on a shot once a month and  birth control  to help slow down the growing and spreading of my major endometriosis, if we don't get it under control my OB said I will have to have a complete hysterectomy. also we have to stop my periods for awhile. I was wondering if anyone can relate to this, what your experiences were and if I can still have kids. My husband and I had been trying to a while and I couldn't get pregnant and in wondering if all this was affecting me getting pregnant. I recently had this done and I'm still recovering. I want kids within the next few years but I'm scared I cannot have kids now. Anyone experience any of this? I am very young and all this is a bit hard to go through. I don't want to be on birth control but I don't have a choice right now. I want kids ASAP!

I would suggest you read my profile and journals. I had stage IV Endometriosis as well. Deep infiltrating Endo.

Hysterectomy is not the answer. If that is what your gyno is saying then you need to find yourself a specialist in Endometriosis.

Yes this would have effected getting pregnant however there are lots of people that have gotten pregnant that had endo I am one of them.

Treatment involves NSAID pain killers,GnRH analogs, oral contraceptive pills, progestins and surgery. Surgery should be planned only when the other treatments fail.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
