Period?? Or something wrong?

So today I had cramps and my lower back hurt a lot and I went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was (sorry if this is gross) this disgusting brown discharge with a little blood and it's like dark brown and sorta runny and up until now I've had white discharge. I had diarrhea too but I read that the cramps could've caused that?? Then when I just went to the bathroom I looked again and there's lots of brown in my underwear.. If it's dried blood, should there be that much for a first period? I don't remember any spotting.. Also when I looked with a mirror I couldn't see any traces of blood near my vag... Please help. Also I have school tomorrow but no pads and I'm too awkward to ask the nurse and I haven't told my mom yet bc again im nervous so what do I do??? Please help

This is normal.  Nothing to worry about but if it would make you feel better, speak with the school nurse if your school still has one or call y pop ur doctor's office and ask to speak with the nurse there. I hope this is helpful.

normal. I was 12 when I started my period....one the way to class. It stated out brown too....I had to make a pad out of toilet paper, awkward but it held til the end of the day! Honestly, I'd just ask the nurse, she's used to this and this is natural, it's nothing to be embarrassed of, just have that mentality and you'll be fine.

Also, usually before and after you have your period, for a few days, you might notice brown discharge, this is old blood and is very normal before the real period kicks in.

Everything you've described is consistent with what may girls experience with beginning periods. So you need to be prepared. Believe me, you don't want to have a period while sitting in class unprepared. I have friends who this has happened to and it's way more embarrassing then talking to the nurse or your mother. Both of these women know all about periods and are expecting you to get yours. They are eager to help you, so talk to one or both of them. Then get yourself the products you need to be prepared or visit the nurse if you're not. Everybody starts their period sometime, and now is the time for you get serious about yours. It's perfectly normal so don't be embarrassed about it.
