Period Troubles

Okay, so. My persiod are becoming very irregular. I have never had a regular period before. It never botherd me because my docter said it was because I have a Thyroid problem. Would this also lead to a spotting type period. It is like I will start my period and it will be a very light brown.. Light bleeding.. and in 20 min it will stop. I dont know if this is a problem or not.. I am a vergin so I know im NOT pregnant. My friend even made me take a pregnancy test and it turned out negitive. Another thing is.. I only hav e my period 3 times a year.. Is that because it is irregular? Help me figure this out

If you're hyperthyroid, then yes it can cause you to have irregular or no menstrual cycle.

You don't say whether you have hypo thyroid or hyper thyroid, or whether you are significantly overweight -

Is your doctor trying to treat your thyroid disorder?
