No! I was right with Provera. Sorry. So mnay different names for medication. Brand namesand generics.
I am also trying to get pregnant right now. I am on my second cycle of taking Provera to start my period (which you take once a day for 10 days or until your period starts) then when you get your period on day 5 of having it I start to take Clomid for 5 days. They start you out at 50mg tablets once a day for 5 days. However if your monthly blood work comes back negative for ovulation then they can increase it to 100mg or 150mg. After taking Clomid for the 5 days (a medication that tricks your body into ovulation/releasing an egg & sometimes mmultiple eggs) you should start having sex every other day.
It sounds like what I was going through. I started my period when I was 13 and it was normal until I turned about 16 and then I started to miss a period here and there. Then when I turned 17/18 it just stopped. It would come once maybe every 6 months. My doctor told me that she wanted to do an ultrasound and a few blood tests. I ended up being diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). But she told me that I could control it with maintaining a healthy weight and either taking birth control pills (a specific brand with more progesterone instead of testosterone) if you are trying to prevent pregnancy OR provera each month to be able to have a period without the birth control aspect of it.
Hi. You need to be evaluated by your (or A) doctor. Things like thyroid issues can make a woman have very long cycles. I had a slow thyroid for a period of time and my period came every 3 or 4 months! PCOS could be another reason. But only a doctor can evaluate for conditions that would cause you to have a long cycle. good luck
