Period while pregnant?

Just wondering if anyone has had what seems like a regular period during pregnancy and if so how did you find out you were pregnant? My period was late at the end of February at which point I was experiencing nausea, sore breast and fatigue. AF came 4 days late but was a bit strange and have continued to get periods pretty much regularly. I don't feel any real symptoms of pregnancy except for being overly emotional (crying when watching tv mostly), a little constipation and I see a blue squiggly vein in the center of my chest as well as very obvious blue veins on my breasts. But the main reason for this question is that I also feel a roundish bulge in my lower abdomen. I'm a size 16/18 so I have some "cushion" in the area making it difficult to see at all but can definitely feel a firmer bulge underneath. I've felt some blips or twitches but attritbuting it to gas or something. Wondering what else might be causing the above and if any1 can relate? Sorry 4 the length of description!

Took a test day before yesterday and it was negative. Started to feel a little crazy and kind of told myself it must just all be in my head and to just stop thinking about it already...Then today while sitting in the car I felt the weirdest sensation in my abdomen. It wasn't a flutter or fast twitching but like a poke or something from the inside (strong/obvious enough to stop me mid-conversation), felt it about 3 times and then it went away. Later in the evening while sitting at home I felt a similar feeling lower in abdomen but just one "poke" and nothing since. Very confused!! Can't get in to see my dr. until June 16th...Hoping everything is ok and anxious to find out what's going on with this body of mine!

Thanks so much for the response. I took a few tests when my period was late but all were negative and haven't tested since because I figured it was a false alarm when AF came shortly after. I'm going to go ahead and test and will do what you suggested. Thankfully I haven't ingested anything that could potentially harm a growing baby (alcohol medication etc). Thanks again, greatly appreciate it! :) God bless!

When women experience bleeding while they're preggers it not a menstrual cycle but only that of implantation bleeding.  Implantation bleeding is completely different from a regular menstrual cycle.  The difference is that implantation bleeding is a lot shorter and the flow is different as well.  Implantation bleeding usually has some pinkish/brownish discharge that follows beforehand.  The symptoms that were describing sounds like PMS (yes, it's possible to have these symptoms before your period and not be preggers-I know this because it happens to me just about every month) symptoms and earlier pregnancy symptoms too.  If you're feeling a bulge and haven't gain any weight it's very possible that you're carrying a little one.  The first thing that you should do is take a HPT and if it comes out neg then you need to make an appointment to have some lab work or an vaginal ultrasound performed ASAP.  You want to do this quickly as possible because if you are indeed preggers you need to start getting pre-natal attention.  Best wishes and God bless as well!

(I believe doctors date pregnancy from first day of last period which was January 25th= 15weeks by now or 12 weeks from date of intercourse)
